AI Guru Academy · Legal
Terms of Use
Effective · Version 1.0
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of https://aiguru.academy and the online learning services offered there under the name AI Guru Academy (together, the “Platform”) by AI Guru (“AI Guru”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Please read them before registering or buying a course.
By creating an account, ticking the acceptance box, making a purchase or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. A separate, clearly presented agreement may govern a specific organisational training purchase; that agreement controls only for that purchase and only where it expressly conflicts with these Terms.
In short
- You must be at least 18 to use the Platform, and your account is personal to you.
- Courses are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. The price you see at checkout is the amount charged.
- Your access to a purchased course does not expire while we offer that course on the Platform.
- You can request a refund within 14 days if you have completed less than 20% of the course and have not earned its certificate. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- Certificates confirm that you met our completion criteria. They are not degrees, licences or job guarantees.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of State of New Jersey, United States. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
1. Eligibility and accounts
The Platform is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. You agree to give accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account except where it results from our own acts or omissions or where the law provides otherwise.
Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred or shared. You must verify your email address before you can buy a course. We may ask for reasonable verification to protect accounts and prevent fraud.
2. Courses and purchases
We offer online courses made up of videos, readings, quizzes and related materials. Each course page states the price, currency, scope and any special conditions before you buy. We may update course content to keep it relevant and accurate, but we will not materially reduce what you have paid for without offering an appropriate remedy as described in section 10.
Prices are shown in the currency stated on the course page. Any applicable taxes or mandatory fees are shown at checkout before you pay. Payments are processed by a third-party payment partner on its own secure form; we do not guarantee that every payment method will be accepted.
Unless a course page clearly says otherwise, purchases are one-time purchases, not automatically renewing subscriptions. If we ever introduce subscriptions or automatic renewals, we will disclose the renewal amount and frequency, obtain your clear consent and provide straightforward cancellation before charging you.
3. Access and licence
Once your payment is confirmed, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the enrolled course through the Platform for your own learning. Buying a course does not transfer ownership of any videos, slides, assessments, software or other materials to you.
Access period. Your access to a purchased course does not expire while we continue to offer that course on the Platform. We do not describe this as “lifetime access”, because courses can be retired; if we withdraw a course you have paid for, section 10 applies.
Course materials are provided for streaming and reading within the Platform. You may take personal notes. Unless we authorise it in writing, you may not copy, record, download by technical means, reproduce, distribute, resell, sublicense, publish, scrape, publicly perform or commercially exploit course content.
4. Acceptable use and academic integrity
You agree not to:
- Share accounts or circumvent access, payment, assessment or security controls.
- Copy, redistribute, upload or sell protected course materials without permission.
- Engage in fraud, impersonation, cheating, misrepresenting credentials or harassment.
- Upload malware, probe our infrastructure, overload our services, scrape content or interfere with other learners.
- Infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
- Submit unlawful or harmful content, or content you do not have the right to provide.
We may investigate suspected violations and take reasonable, proportionate measures, including removing content or restricting an account. Where practical and appropriate we will give you notice and an opportunity to respond. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights or any refund entitlement.
5. Assessments, certificates and outcomes
Courses and assessments are educational. Completion is decided by the Platform using the criteria stated in the course: for example, a video lesson counts as watched when most of it has actually been played, a text lesson when you mark it complete, and a quiz only when you pass it. Your progress is shown in your learning dashboard.
A certificate of course completion confirms only that you met our stated criteria for that course. It is not an academic degree, a professional licence, a government accreditation or a guarantee of employment, promotion, income or admission anywhere, unless we expressly and accurately say so. Each certificate carries a verification code; anyone who has the code can view the certificate holder’s name, the course title and the completion date on our verification page.
We may correct clerical errors, investigate academic misconduct and, after reasonable review, revoke a certificate that was obtained improperly. Outcomes vary with prior experience, effort and other factors.
6. Learner content and feedback
You keep ownership of original work you submit. You grant AI Guru a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, reproduce and display your submissions as reasonably necessary to run courses, assess work, secure the Platform and comply with law. We do not acquire general ownership of your submissions.
If you voluntarily send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve our services without owing you anything, subject to applicable privacy and intellectual-property law. We will ask for your permission before using an identifiable testimonial or submission in public marketing.
7. Intellectual property
The Platform’s design, software, branding, course materials and other content are owned by AI Guru or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Third-party marks belong to their respective owners.
8. Fees, refunds and cancellations
Purchases are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which is part of these Terms. Its key restrictions are shown next to the payment button before you buy.
In short: for a one-time course purchase you may request a refund within 14 calendar days of purchase, provided you have completed less than 20% of the course and have not earned its certificate. Different terms apply only where they are clearly presented before purchase or required by law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
9. Third-party services and links
The Platform uses third-party providers for payments, hosting, video delivery, email and optional sign-in with Google. Their own terms may apply to your use of those services. Course materials may link to external websites for reference; we are not responsible for third-party sites or content except where the law requires.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep courses reasonably available, but maintenance, outages and technical problems can occur. We may change Platform features or retire outdated material.
If we withdraw a course you have paid for, we will offer a reasonable replacement, an extension or a refund, consistent with our Refund and Cancellation Policy and applicable law.
11. Educational disclaimer
Course content is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not personalised legal, medical, financial, tax, investment or other regulated professional advice. Seek appropriately qualified advice for decisions that require it. We make reasonable efforts to keep materials accurate but do not guarantee that content is always complete, error-free or current.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PLATFORM AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THOSE THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, ANY PARTICULAR COURSE OUTCOME OR ANY PARTICULAR PROFESSIONAL RESULT.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AI GURU WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE PLATFORM. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM A PARTICULAR PURCHASE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THAT PURCHASE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, EXCEPT WHERE SUCH A LIMITATION IS PROHIBITED BY LAW.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot legally be excluded, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time and may ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected], subject to legal and record-keeping requirements. We may suspend or terminate an account for material violations, security threats, fraud or non-payment, after taking reasonable account of the circumstances and any legally required process. Termination does not by itself create a refund right, nor does it remove a refund right that the law or our policy provides.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise. Subject to any non-waivable rights you have, proceedings relating to these Terms may be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and each party consents to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact [email protected] so we can try to resolve the matter informally. These Terms contain no mandatory arbitration clause and no class-action waiver.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms are posted here with a new effective date and version number. We will give additional notice or ask for your renewed acceptance where the law requires, and material changes will not retroactively reduce access or rights you have already paid for without a lawful basis.
16. General provisions
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest of these Terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Our failure to enforce a provision once does not waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with the Refund and Cancellation Policy and the Privacy Policy, form the agreement for the Platform services they cover, unless a separate agreement applies to a particular purchase.
